We walk alongside men and women leaving prison, rehab and addiction - from the inside, through the gate, and into a life of purpose.

We know the road because we've walked it.

Our mentors have lived through addiction, prison, and found real, lasting freedom on the other side. That's why we don't stop when rehab ends or the prison gate opens. We know the hardest part comes after: the empty flat, the old friends, the long Tuesday afternoons. Urban Acts exists for exactly that moment — offering long-term mentoring, practical opportunities, and a community that doesn't give up on people.

We are based in Nottingham and work with people across England, in person and online.

Our Services

One-to-one, long-term mentoring for men and women in prison, leaving prison, or recovering from addiction — delivered by people with lived experience.

We mentor inside prisons, lead chapel services that offer hope and a bridge to the outside, and keep walking with people after release: life skills, budgeting, family restoration, and a friend who answers the phone.

We host gatherings that celebrate recovery and bring the whole community together — including people still in active addiction and those experiencing homelessness. Expect food, real stories of transformation, and a genuine welcome, whoever you are and wherever you're at. We also train and mobilise churches to reach the people society too often writes off.
